Trust God With Everything

“Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding. In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6 AMPC)

I’m reminded of the other day when Dad and I took a day to get his deer stand ready for hunting season. We knew the process needed to get things cleared, set up, and corn put out. During our trip out into the woods my father was carrying a chainsaw and a machete to help clear out the path. I was pulling a dolly with bags of corn tied to it so we could put it out once we reached his stand. As I walked behind dad while he made the path to his stand…pulling this heavy dolly…there were times I didn’t want to follow because I was tired, worn out, and ready to be at our destination. Each time I would try to pass him something would happen…either I would run into a nasty spider web, find myself off the path, and it had rained all that week so the area where we were walking through was full of water and mosquitos so of course they would attack me...the defenseless one. When I would let him lead and trust my father nothing affected me because he took care of it first…no spider webs would touch me, no trees would be in the way, and I always had a clear path in front of me to take steps towards our destination.

Friends I believe God taught me a lesson that day and He wants to show you it as well. My earthly father cleared a path for me…how much more will our heavenly father clear a path for us towards the calling, plans, and dreams that He has for us. Through Jesus we can be confident, we can lean on, and we can trust God with everything. We can all recognize and acknowledge that following my dad was better than getting out in front of him while making a path in the woods. Let’s be a people who follow, who trust in, and who lean on our father in heaven to make plain our paths.

Let’s walk daily with Him,
